About Kanji Blitz

Why it exists, and where it is going.

I made Kanji Blitz after trying many of the popular kanji apps. They are very good at what they do, but something was always missing: endless repetition, chaotic walls of information, or paywalls. Each one specialised in a single thing and missed the bigger picture. Learning kanji proved to be a very tedious task.

The constant use of hiragana and katakana, with no romaji in sight, was also exhausting for someone who had just started learning.

That is where Kanji Blitz comes in: the toolset a student needs to learn all the JLPT kanji.

It tackles those problems head on, with a fun learning experience and an even better sense of accomplishment.

The real fire of Kanji Blitz is the mnemonics. A powerful mnemonic puts a kanji into your brain forever. That is why I introduced community-submitted mnemonics. Creating them all myself is slow and hard, but with your help I believe it will be child’s play. Have an idea? Send it from inside the app, and the best ones go into the game for everyone.
